Character Classes

Due to the character twists given to some of the races in Troimoira’s Fane, the distribution of the some of the character classes among the races is rather different. This section details the likely origins of a particular race/class combination, and mentions the attitudes of some races to particular classes.

There are no restrictions upon the race/class combinations that a player can use in Troimoira’s Fane. However, some combinations are very rare. These combinations are noted below. It is up to the imaginative player to justify his Gnome Barbarian with a plausible background story.

Barbarian

Barbarians appear in the Fane from two sources. The people of the Götar, who occupy the lands west of the Fane have a strong tradition of Barbarian warriors. This confederation of peoples is comprised mainly of Humans, Orcs and Half-Orcs. Although there are believed to be Gnomes living in the area as well, they seem to act as leaders and teachers, not as warriors.

The Götar peoples are currently regarded with deep suspicion at best in the Fane, since the sea raiders who have been attacking the coastal region in the last few years are known to come from that region.

In addition, there is a small, rugged collection of Ythaldin villages in the area around Mandrake Marsh. These Ythaldin are known to deliberately train berserker warriors.

Elanii, Dwarf, Gnome, Half-Elf and Halfling Barbarians are virtually unheard of in the Fane, although they may well occur elsewhere in the world of Leithian.
